Security Profiles

Security Profiles allow the Administrator to grant and limit user access to the different features of the application. On a new account, the default ones are Administrator and Read-Only

The Administrators security profile is the only one that is filled out in full by default. The Read-Only one is empty and can be filled out based on the level of access you decide.

HOW TO ADD A SECURITY PROFILE

Steps:​
  1. From the Tracking screen, click the Menu Bar icon on the top left-hand corner to access the Navigation Panel

  2. Click the Users menu item

  3. Select Security Profiles

  4. Click the Add button

  5. Type the Description of the Security Profile.  For example, the job role determining the level of access (Manager, Sales, Customer Service Representative)

  6. In the Permissions section, Select/Clear the checkboxes, as required

    • Can Manage Users: this checkbox enables the profile to maintain user accounts.

    • Can Manage Security profiles: this checkbox enables the profile to maintain security profiles. 

  7. Click the Next Button

The Operations section enables you to grant access to Add, Edit and Delete the different features of the Tracking and/or Configuration screens.


This includes:

  • Manage Work Schedules

  • Manage Vehicle Types

  • Manage Rules

  • Manage Resources

  • Manage POIs

  • Manage DDS

  • Manage Assets

  • Change Trip Type

  • Assign Resource
     

 Steps:
  1. In the Operations section, Select/Clear the checkboxes, as required

  2. Click the Next button

The Asset Type Visibility section enables you to grant access to the viewing permissions of the existing Asset Types in the application. This enables you to restrict who sees which asset types, based on their profile.

Note: When a new Asset Type is added after a security profile has been created, it will only be automatically applied to a profile whose button was previously clicked. Otherwise, you will need to access the security profile(s) and update them, as necessary.

Steps:
  1. To find a specific Asset Type, type its description in the search field

  2. To deselect all the Asset Types in the list, click the All Visible button

  3. To select all the Asset Types in the list again, click the None Visible button

  4. To select a specific Asset Type, click its corresponding Some Visible button in the list area

  5. Click the Next button

The Location Type Visibility section enables you to grant access to the viewing permissions of the existing POI Types in the application. This enables you to restrict who sees which POI types, based their profile.

 

At the top of the screen, you can use the Search for location types field to find a POI Type based on its Description. You can also use the All Visible or None Visible buttons to quickly select or deselect the entire list of POI Types to this profile.

 

Alternatively, you can select specific Asset Type, by clicking their corresponding Some Visible button on the right in the list area.


Note: When a new POI Type is added after a security profile has been created, it will only be automatically applied to a profile if the All Visible button was previously clicked. Otherwise, you will need to access the profiles and update them as necessary.

Steps:
  1. To find a specific Asset Type, type its description in the Search field

  2. To deselect all the POI Types in the list, click the All Visible button

  3. To select all the POI Types in the list again, click the None Visible button

  4. To select a specific POI Type, click its corresponding Some Visible button in the list area

  5. Click the Save button
